Assasin’s Creed III is Out at Midnight Tonight: Here is What You Need to Know

"Assassin's Creed III"is out for the Xbox360 and PS3 this week.  It will also be available for the new WiiU console when that launches on November 18th.

Here's what you need to know: This game moves the action to the Revolutionary War, and your assassin interacts with historical figures like George Washington, Benjamin Franklin, Thomas Jefferson, and Paul Revere.

You still play as Desmond, but your historical ancestor is now a half-breed Indian whose known as Conner whenever he's among the palefaces.

New game features include hunting, captaining your own ship, and using new weapons like a tomahawk and a rope-dart.

Even though this is titled "Assassin's Creed III", it's actually the FIFTH game in the series.  That's because "AC2" was essentially a self-contained trilogy that spawned the spin-off games "AC: Brotherhood" and "AC: Revelations"
