A Salute for United Supermarkets’ Tremendous Donation to South Plains Food Bank
United Supermarkets and Market Street have made a huge Take a Bite Out of Hunger donation to celebrate a decade of giving.
Tuesday morning (April 21st), at 10:30 a.m., 11,320 pounds of apples were donated to the South Plains Food Bank, according to their press release.
In the midst of this challenging time, the United Family really came through with an incredibly generous donation for those in need. It's phenomenal to see their dedication to our Lubbock community always in action and good to know how much we can always count on them.
The United Family is the longest-running and one of the original partners of the Take a Bite Out of Hunger program. They've donated more than 500,000 pounds of apples and fed more than 100,000 families to date.
In addition, the United Family donates food and produce to the South Plains Food Bank every month.
Here's what Take a Bite Out of Hunger is all about, according to their press release:
Take a Bite Out of Hunger™ program, sponsored by FirstFruits Marketing of Washington. FirstFruits created the program to help feed the underserved while bringing attention to the problem of food insecurity in the United States.
We'd like to send a big THANK YOU to The United Family for all that they do.
