Starting the season, it looked like it would be an uphill battle for teams to try and dethrone the two-time defending Big 12 champion Texas Tech Red Raiders. Tech has been a little inconsistent without pitcher  Steven Gingery, but they still put together a very good season.

After losing two of three this past weekend to the Texas Longhorns, the Red Raiders find themselves running out of time to try and make it three consecutive Big 12 regular season titles.

Here is how the current Big 12 standings shape up with just a couple weeks left in the regular season.

Oklahoma State:15-3 (28-17-1)

Texas: 14-7 (33-18)

Oklahoma: 13-8 (31-18)

Texas Tech 12-9 (35-14)

Baylor: 9-9 (26-17)

TCU: 8-9 (27-18)

West Virginia: 7-11 (24-21)

Kansas: 5-12 (22-25)

Kansas State: 3-18 (18-29)

The Red Raiders are not entirely out of the hunt for a third straight Big 12 regular season title, but they need a lot of help with teams in front of them losing out.

They also need to win out the remainder of their games, which includes a three-game series  at Oklahoma State to cap off the season before the Big 12 tournament kicks off on May 23rd, 2018.

Up next for the Red Raiders, they host their final home game of the regular season on Tuesday, May 8, against Dallas Baptist at 6:30 p.m. at Dan Law Field at Rip Griffin Park.
