On Monday, October 12th, two people were arrested in Odessa, Texas in relation to a capital murder incident that happened a few months prior.

KAMC News reports that back on August 29th, 2020, Odessa police responded to the 4300 block of Locust Avenue in reference to a medical call.

When police arrived, they found an 8-year-old girl who was pronounced dead at the scene.

It's said that she was being punished and wasn't allowed to eat breakfast. She was also allegedly required to "jump on the trampoline without stopping for an extended period of time." Exactly how long she was made to jump wasn't specified.

Allegedly, the girl was not allowed to drink any water while she was on the trampoline.

A search warrant was obtained later, and it said that the temperature of the trampoline read to be around 110 degrees. It also said that the ground was around 150 degrees.

On October 8th, police received the final autopsy report, which listed the girl's death as a homicide. The cause of death was determined to be hydration.

Thirty-four-year-old Ashley Shwarz and 44-year-old Daniel Shwarz were arrested and charged with capital murder.

They remain in the Ector County Law Enforcement Center.

Family members have said that Ashley and Daniel were not the girl's parents, but her guardians.
