Lubbock's 7th Annual Pride Festival is this Saturday, August 26th at Maxey Park (4020 30th) from noon until 10pm.  The mission on Pride is to, "celebrate diversity, equality and inclusiveness in Lubbock"

According to their website:

Lubbock pride is a family friendly event. We want to encourage all ages to attend and enjoy themselves in a friendly environment. Our annual drag show begins at 7pm. During the day we will have local vendors selling all your pride merchandise! Local non-profit organizations, food,live music and much much more! We also host several guest speakers, as well as different activities through out the day.

102.5 KISS will be out there with KISS swag and a limited number of tickets to Sir Mix-A-Lot and Echo Smith! Drop by our tent and say hello, we'd love to see you.

Pride will have contests you can enter, including a doggy drag show (aw) and a drag race (basically an obstacle course that involves putting on heels, wigs and dresses), for information on the contests go here.

There will also be live music, vendors, and a lecture series. This event is free and family friendly. Here's the schedule of events:
