Two Lubbock High Schools Made the Washington Post’s List of the Most Challenging High Schools

Congratulations are in order for two Lubbock schools for making this year's Washington Post list of most challenging high schools in America. Do you, or did you, go to one of these?

Lubbock ISD’s Talkington School for Young Women Leaders, and Lubbock High School both made the list this year. Lubbock High School even jumped up in its placement from last year by almost 200 spots!

I applied for the Talkington school when I was in high school but not being a young woman put a damper on my application process. I did however go to, and amazingly graduate from, Lubbock High. No I'm not going to tell you what year. So even though we can almost never win the Silver Spurs, we have all the smarty pants kids in town. Go LHS Westerners!

Lubbock High came in at number 462. While that might sound low, compared to the 2,300 schools overall its in the top 25%!

And the Talkington School came in at #13! Show-offs.
