VMAs - Video of the Year

VEVO

Adele, Katy — it's up to you. Since 2007, the Video of the Year category at MTV's Video Music Awards has been swept by the female set, with Rihanna, Britney Spears, Beyonce and Lady Gaga taking the top honor over the past four years. But, who knows? The Beastie Boys could nab the moon man for their cameo-heavy retro video.

And the nominees for the 2011 MTV VMA 'Video of the Year' are:

1

Katy Perry – 'Firework'

Odds 2:1

Watch Katy Perry's 'Firework' and try not to tap your foot or bop your head — we dare you. There’s still nothing like a good, old-fashioned, dance your pants off feel-good song… and we aren’t ashamed to admit that we like it!

2

Beastie Boys – 'Make Some Noise'

Odds 3:1

The boys are back. This retro- and future-spective features Elijah Wood, Seth Rogen and Danny McBride as the Beastie Boys in a (long time coming) sequel to ‘87’s '(You Gotta) Fight for Your Right (To Party!).' Tons of celebs make cameos in the video… and if the standard length version isn’t enough, just check out the 30-minute vid.

3

Adele – 'Rolling in the Deep'

Odds 3:1

That’s right, Adele. Smash another plate. With a voice like that (and yes, she’s just sitting there) you can do just about whatever you’d like. We still get shivers every time we hear that fire starting in her heart … and let it be known, this is one bad lady we don't want to cross.

4

Bruno Mars – 'Grenade'

Odds 7:1

Oh, love. Bruno Mars gets the worst of it in this dark video. At least he got a VMA nom (and a darn good song) out of it.

5

Tyler, The Creator – 'Yonkers'

Odds 10:1

We said Bruno Mars was dark? OK, Tyler, we get it. Things are pretty dim for you too. Uh, and you don’t particularly care for Mr. Mars. Noted.

Some NSFW language, cockroaches ahead:
