The 3D re-release of "Titanic" will hit theaters on April 6th, 2012.  The 100th anniversary of the Titanic's first, and LAST, voyage is four days later, on April 10th. And it sank April 12th, 1912. Titanic writer and director says, "There's a whole generation that's never seen 'Titanic' as it was meant to be seen, on the big screen.  And this will be 'Titanic' as you've never seen it before with the emotional power intact and the images more powerful than ever, this will be an epic experience for fans and newcomers alike."

Titanic absolutely launched Leonardo DiCaprio's career into the stratosphere, and it surely didn't hurt Kate Winslet's either. Leo was already a star and afterward couldn't go anywhere in public for years without younger girls accosting him because of the movie.

Cameron is also the mastermind behind the other most succesful movie in history, "Avatar", which was also shown in 3D. Will the addition of 3D make Titanic any better? I guess we'll have to wait and see, but until then read my blog about the ups and downs of 3D here.

And to remind everybody of the awesomeness that launched "I'm the king of the world" into everybody's brain, here's the original trailer.
