SNL Takes on the 2012 Debates and “Big Bird” Weighs In On “Weekend Update” [VIDEO]

NBC

“Saturday Night Live” did their version of last week’s presidential debate  and Mitt Romney’s now-infamous “Big Bird” comment  on this weekend’s episode. The opening sketch was over seven minutes long, and joked about how out-of-it POTUS Obama seemed during the debate.

In the skit, Obama is preoccupied with thinking of a last-minute anniversary gift for Michelle Obama before struggling with the thin air from Denver’s high altitude, which is also Al Gore’s working theory on what happened.

“SNL” also had Big Bird make an appearance on Weekend Update to comment on the debate.  (–Romney said that although he likes PBS and Big Bird he would shut down the network’s government subsidy.)

When asked how he heard about the comment, Big Bird said, quote, “Oh, I got a million tweets.”  But not on Twitter.  He added, quote, “I’m a bird.  Tweeting is how we talk.”.
