This is the X-Games definition of the old 'don't count your chickens' thing.  On Saturday, an Australian named Meghan Rutledge was about to win gold in the super-cross so she pumped her fist while she sailed through the air on the last jump.

Except to do that, she had to take her hand of the throttle  which is kinda bad when you're trying to land a huge jump at full speed.  So she ate it when she landed, crashed, and lost the race.  Then she cried.
