When it comes to pranks and the Internet you may think you have seen it all. From fake lotto tickets to the broken bungee jump ropes, it would seem that everything has been done. Until now. This prank done on Memorial Day is pure genius.
Late night creeping on Memorial Day weekend, four pranksters buried $100 worth of gold coins in an old treasure chest under the sand. The following day, they slowly began uncovering their "treasure" for everyone on the beach to see. An excited crowd gathers around the pit. chanting "Open it! Open it!"
The gag goes again and again as crowds tumble into the pit for their piece of the action. Watch as their excitement turn into outrage when the coins are revealed to be chocolate.
