I start every morning in Lubbock, with a hot cup of coffee and Buddha, taking a few moments to reflect upon what matters in life. Yesterday a co-worker accidently erased everything on her computer that she had been working on for over a month and watching her meltdown was painful, yet there was part of me that celebrated that it wasn't me. However, as the Universe is constantly teaching us lessons, I made myself a mental note to slow down and pay close attention to the details of life.

Which begs the question as to what really matters in your life? With Thanksgiving the day after tomorrow it's a time when many of us take that Buddha Breath and go to that silent space within and take an inventory of who we are as we travel our path. One of the things I learned years ago, is to make a daily gratitude list. Of course this adds to the already long list of things in your day and if you're like me this list ends up lost somewhere along with my list of things to do.

Life is simple when you break it down, or so it is said by someone I suspect sits upon a mountain top with hours of nothingness upon their plate. For most of us, contemplation is done during morning rush hour and making sure our kids do their homework.

What matters to me today...is what matters to you?
