Avril Lavigne and Chad Kroeger of Nickelback are Engaged

Talk about outta left field. The pseudo-dark diva of the pop scene is getting married. Chad Kroeger of Nickelback and Avril have been writing together and apparently that's not all. Chad happens to be one of the biggest and best song writers on the planet. Not only has Chad's Nickelback tracks soared to the top of the rock charts but alot of his music can be heard on pop, country and rock radio daily.

The two have been writing together and love found it's way in. Avril and Chad have been dating for about six months. Oh, and it gets better:  They're engaged.  Chad proposed on the 8th of this month with a 14-carat diamond.

This will be Chad's first marriage and Avril's second.  She previously made The Big Mistake with Deryck Whibley of Sum 41.  That marriage only lasted three years.
