A Shooting at a Midnight Showing of “The Dark Knight Rises” Left 12 Dead and 38 Wounded [VIDEO] [NSFW]
There was a shooting at one of the “Dark Knight Rises” midnight screenings last night. A 24-year-old guy wearing a bullet proof vest and carrying an AK assault rifle, two handguns, and a shotgun killed 12 people inside a theater in Aurora, Colorado. 38 other people were wounded, including several kids.
The guy, wearing a gas-mask during the attack and appeared to choose his targets randomly. Witnesses say the shooter kicked in an emergency exit door and threw tear gas canisters into the theater before opening fire.
There are some reports that the victims are being treated for chemical exposure for whatever was in those canisters, and a mortician on the scene told a news crew that the device consisted of metal shards and something like pepper spray.
The gunman did not resist arrest, and he surrendered quietly to the police in the parking lot.
