And now for something that will make you feel really old: The blog, I Hate Young People, recently took to the streets to quiz our nation's youngsters on their knowledge of The Beatles. The results: Well, let's just say they could use a little 'Help!'.

Not only had they never heard of the "Fab Four," most couldn't even name one member of the band, let alone one of its songs. In fact, one interviewee mistook John Lennon for John Legend.

Check out the horrifying video after the jump; and for all you youngsters out there reading this, here is a list of every single Beatles song ever released, you know, just in case.

Ok so here's my question:

Does it matter?

I am one of those that believes that you should always at least be informed of history, those that don't know are doomed to repeat it kind of thing, but in music everything is repeated all the time. And those that don't know find out soon enough when the original artist sues the pants off somebody for plagiarism. So what do you think? Are this generations young people supposed to know about all the old artists that came before? Or is musical ignorance just a current fact of life? Should those that do know just know that we know more and feel smarter? I always get douchebagged out when someone walks around just dropping music trivia with an attitude. So are we those people to the younger generation? Or should we fight the good fight to keep knowledge of music a high priority? Tell me what you think, because I want to know.
