Will Lady Gaga Play Amy Winehouse In a Movie?

A report out of Britain says Lady Gaga is in talks to play Amy Winehouse in a movie about the recently-deceased singer’s life.

Britain’s Daily Star reports that Gaga is in “secret talks”  to portray Winehouse in a biopic. An unnamed source says Gaga “has been itching to make the transition from music into movies and sees this as the ideal role to launch her film career.” Winehouse publicly struggled with drug and alcohol problems and was found dead July 23 in her home in England at the age of 27.

Gaga has not responded to the report. She did, however, speak warmly about Winehouse during a recent appearance on ‘The View.’
