Why Would You Keep Rattlesnakes As Pets?

Earlier this week our News BFF's over at Everything Lubbock reported on a Lubbock man who was arrested for having a stolen vehicle. But when they went in his house, OH BOY!

HE HAD TWO RATTLESNAKES AS PETS!

Seriously, why did 26-year-old Leonel Rios have pet rattlesnakes? Was he asking for a death wish? Was he going to sell them to a lab that makes anti-venom? Or did he have something more sinister in mind?

We probably will never know.

Animal control will hold a dangerous animal hearing, and more than likely Mr. Rios will not be getting his snakes back. But then again, it looks like he will be going to the pokey for a while, and there are plenty of snakes there.
