When we talked to TJ Storment at Texas Tech Media Day he told us that the offensive line had something coming down the pipe for the offensive line to get paid via NIL. After the news earlier this week about Double Eagle's deal with the big boys at Texas Tech, I can say that TJ Storment was absolutely correct.

Cody Cambell is the CEO of Double Eagle and a former Texas Tech offensive lineman. That relationship was enough to link the pair together. The Double Eagle brand was built on the kind of hard work that is established week in and week out in the trenches.

"Double Eagle is proud to announce partnerships with each and every offensive lineman on the #TexasTech roster!" Campbell announced via social media, "Not long ago, most TTU O-Linemen made the NFL. The tradition is back!! Texas Tech is #OLU"

Currently, Le'Raven Clark and Terence Steele are on NFL rosters, but there was a time when there were 6 or 8 NFL offensive linemen from Texas Tech floating around on NFL rosters.

The crux of the deal here though is that it's not just the starters who get the NIL deal with Double Eagle. This is available to every offensive lineman on the roster.

"We look at our business and our team — every man in every role, every woman in every role — as equally as important as the stars," Campbell told lubbockonline.com.  "So we didn't want to do a deal with just one or two-star players. We wanted to do it with everybody. It just kind of represents how we look at business and what we know is important from a football team and an offensive line in particular."

In the same interview, Campbell mentioned he wanted this to be an annual partnership between his company and the offensive line. That brings us to the most important part of this NIL agreement, recruiting. Sure, it's great to have the guys here right now get a little money, but it's even better to think about the recruiting pitch of guaranteed cash from a guy that has a billion-dollar company and is a Texas Tech Regent.

The offensive line depth will be great at Texas Tech, quickly.
