If you already take your cellphone and sing into it like a microphone on the regular, then the upcoming PlayStation 4 version of SingStar is just for you.

Game director Chris Bruce has announced on the PlayStation Blog that for the 10 year anniversary of SingStar, a special PlayStation 4 version of the game will be released. Selling over 26 million copies since its original launch, SingStar's technology will grow with the times. There will be a free SingStar mobile app that will transform your phone into a microphone which will sync to your game and record your vocals.

Bruce claims that the app will sync with both the PS3 and PS4 versions of SingStar and players can use both tablets and smartphones as stand-in microphones. You will also have the ability to create custom playlists from your app as well. Those who share their SingStar experiences on social media sites such as Twitter and Facebook will be able to gain bonus XP and can have a sort of back and forth, online challenge between other SingStar-playing friends online.

SingStar will be available as a free download on the PlayStation Store this fall for PS4 and will include 10 demo songs. A physical, disc-based copy is in the works for a later release.
