Lubbock police have arrested two men for their involvement in an attempted burglary on Sunday, December 1st.

According to the Lubbock Police Department, shots were fired in the 4800 block of 42nd Street at about 11:30 p.m.

When police arrived, they found 18-year-olds Jazavier Traylor and Davyante Spence coming out of an alley. They were both arrested after police found a stolen gun nearby and caught Traylor trying to conceal narcotics.

Police later learned that Traylor and Spence were with two other men trying to burglarize a home on 42nd Street when they were chased away by dogs.

Traylor and Spence fled on foot and the other two suspects left the scene in an SUV. Investigators say multiple shots were fired at the dogs, but they did not indicate if there were any injuries in the shooting.

The two unidentified suspects reportedly struck a parked SUV when they sped away.

Traylor and Spence have both been charged with burglary, possession of a stolen firearm, and tampering with evidence. In addition, Traylor has been charged with possession of a controlled substance.
