Two Brothers Attempt to Hide Alley Shooting From Lubbock Police
A Lubbock man was injured after being accidently shot over the weekend. The Lubbock Police Department was dispatched to University Medical Center on Saturday, October 29, just before 9 p.m.. A man was transported to University Medical Center, via private vehicle, after being reportedly shot in an alley behind his family's home in the 2500 block of Bates Street.
KAMC news reported that the victim's parents spoke with police and were also under the impression that someone had shot their son in the alley behind their home. After police spoke with the victim's parents they soon questioned the victim and his brother to gather more information but officers soon discovered inconsistencies in both stories. The victim's brother eventually admitted to shooting his brother while testing out the gun, the shooting was not intentional and was reported as an accident to officials.
One person was arrested by police and transported to the Lubbock County Detention Center, they were charged with Aggravated Assault. That person arrested in connection to the shooting was no longer listed in the Lubbock County Jail Roster as of the publishing of this article. The shooting is still under investigation by the Lubbock Police Department.
