A Tulia police officer was arrested on Wednesday and charged with stalking.

Officer Kelvin Henry was arrested and taken to the Swisher County Jail. He was also placed on unpaid administrative leave.

KAMC News reports that Lubbock Police were called to the 2400 block of East 29th Street on February 12th, 2019 after someone damaged the front right tire of a woman's car. The woman claimed that she and Henry were in a relationship and had broken up.

According to a police report, within three days, the woman said she had received 95 text messages and around 82 phone calls from Henry. One of the text messages read: "Answer my motherf***ing phone call."

The woman said she feared that Henry would kill her, since he was a police officer and owned a gun.

Henry allegedly drove by the woman's house while police were still on the scene. Police later found him nearby, and he denied driving by. He later admitted to driving in the area, but claimed he was looking for a friend named Cory. Henry also denied knowing about the damage to the tire.

Officer Kelvin Henry was arrested and taken to the Swisher County Jail. He was also placed on unpaid administrative leave. Later, Henry was transferred to the Lubbock County Detention Center.

Prosecutors listed the recommended bond at $50,000.
