
Traffic Stop in Carson County Leads to the Seizure of Over 100 Pounds of Marijuana
The Texas Department of Public Safety seized 115 pounds of marijuana during a traffic stop Saturday (Jan. 6) in Carson County.
KAMC News reports a DPS trooper stopped a passenger vehicle traveling east on 1-40 for a traffic violation. During the stop, a drug-sniffing dog was called to the scene to check the vehicle. Police found multiple packages of marijuana in the truck, worth nearly $700,000 dollars.
The driver was arrested and booked into the Carson County Jail for felony possession of marijuana.
The marijuana was allegedly being transported from Whittier, California, to Memphis, Tennessee.
