Toys ‘R’ Us to Close 180 Stores, Lubbock Location Dodges a Bullet
And another retailer could be biting the dust sooner rather than later.
Toys "R" Us has announced that it will be shuttering 180 stores. This accounts for 1/5th of the locations in the US as the struggling toy shop tries to emerge from its September bankruptcy.
Eight Texas stores are on the list, and the Lubbock store has been given a stay of execution. (I think the Lubbock store is safe for a while due to constant business.)
Here's the list of Texas Toys "R" Us locations being closed:
- 801 Mesa Hills Dr., West El Paso, TX
- 9730 Katy Freeway, Houston, TX
- 170 E. Stacy Road, Allen, TX
- 7730 N. MacArthur Blvd, Irving, TX
- 420 E. Round Grove Rd., Lewisville, TX
