Three Arrested Following Civil Disturbance Call: The Full Story

Lubbock Police have provided more information concerning a civil disturbance officers responded to back on Thursday, May 6th.

At around 5 p.m., officers responded to the 2400 block of 32nd Street where it's said 2 suspects were threatening someone with a gun. Officers traveled to the 6500 block of Temple Avenue, which is where they thought the suspects would be. Upon arrival, officers noticed the suspect's vehicle speeding away.

After pulling into a driveway, one of the suspects in the vehicle got out and ran into a home. Officers tried to enter the home, but a 3rd person is said to have stopped them. The suspect who went into the house was arrested later after he left the home through a different point of entry.

Both of the original suspects were taken into custody, so officers turned their attention to the 3rd, who resisted arrest. Officers attempted to deploy a taser on the 3rd suspect, but the connection wasn't successful. Police say that the officer then used the taser to gain compliance through a drive-stun application of the taser.

Those arrested were 20-year-old Cedrick Payton, 17-year-old Dakeyvondrick Westbrook and 37-year-old Marqunita Westbrook.

LPD reviewed body camera footage after the incident began to make rounds on social media, and determined that no LPD policies were violated.
