Driving up to the station tonight, I almost got run off of the road by an 18-wheeler making a "Lubbock Lane Change." As infuriating as it is to almost have had my pretty, new car slammed off the loop, it has inspired this blog for your reading pleasures!

I can't be the only one who's noticed the common sense things that people have seem to forgotten, but here it is! My list of the things most people SHOULD know and have forgotten. (at least we hope they only forgot it...)

1. All vehicles come with blinkers in the standard package.

The reason for my writing, blinkers!! They're always appropriate to use whenever you are changing directions in your vehicle that is not just plain forward or backward.

2. DO NOT put foil in the microwave.

Not only should you not put foil in the microwave, but ANY silverware, metal, foil condiment packages, or CD's in the microwave.

3. Reds don't mix with whites.

When doing your laundry, unless you like to look sweet in yo PINK T, keep the reds and the whites separate.

4. Please pull over to the RIGHT....

It's happened to us all. There we are, minding our own business, driving down the road when an ambulance is coming up fast behind us heading off to save a life. In this case, PULL OVER TO THE RIGHT AND LET IT GO BY. That means to slow down, too, and not try to race it. Sure the lights are pretty, but let it go. It's also polite to pull over and stop for an entire funeral procession, even if it's on the other side of the road.

5. Dishsoap makes lots and LOTS of bubbles!

So it's probably not a good idea to put it in the dishwasher.

This is only one measly little blog about "failing". Lucky for us, there are entire websites dedicated to showcasing people's not so good common sense for us to enjoy.  I thought it would appropriate to wrap this up with one of my favorite common sense quotes: "Common sense 'aint common."
