These Sunglasses Are a Game Changer for Texas Women’s Safety
From pepper spray to whistles, there are a variety of measures women take in order to feel safe when they are out in the world on their own.
While it is very unfortunate that we feel the need to arm ourselves just to do simple tasks like going to the grocery store, taking a walk, or traveling anywhere at night, I’m glad that there are plenty of options out there that help women feel at least a little safer.

One thing that is always taught in self-defense is to keep your head on a swivel in order to spot any potential threats and avoid conflict if you can. While this can be great advice, it isn’t foolproof. Not only does constantly looking around and obviously checking your surroundings potentially make you look like more of a target, but it’s hard to check behind yourself when you are trying to quickly walk from one place to another.
Thankfully, on woman discovered that a certain pair of sunglasses she owns acts like a form of surveillance.
When wearing them, the outer edges of the lenses act as a mirror and allow her to see behind herself without turning her head at all. This means she can take a walk and be aware of her surroundings without making it obvious that she is checking for threats.
The specific glasses she was wearing are Le Specs sunglasses, but it seems like any large sunglasses should do the trick. Just be sure to try them on and check to see if they reflect what is behind you.
