Recently we have had a run of really good releases at the theater so it was no surprise that sooner or later we would hit the wall and get a couple of "Blah" weekends.

"Dr. Seuss' The Lorax" (PG)
This is an animated version of the classic Dr. Seuss book. Zac Efron is on a quest to figure out what happened to all the real trees. That's when he learns the story of the Lorax, the guardian of the land who tried, and failed, to protect his forests. Zac starts out wanting to impress a girl, but soon decides that saving the trees is important to him too.

Danny DeVito is the Lorax, Ed Helms is "the Once-ler," Betty White plays Zac Efron's grandma, and Taylor Swift is the girl he likes. Her character Audrey was named after Dr. Seuss's wife. Zac's character Ted was named after Dr. Seuss himself, whose full name was Theodor Seuss Geisel.

"Project X" (R)
Three high school seniors attempt to make a name for themselves by throwing a "party that no one will forget," which quickly turns into a parental nightmare. It features a cast of unknowns, but one face you'll recognize in the essential role of "angry little person" is that of Martin Klebba. He's the bald-headed 4'1" tall actor with a goatee who plays Marty in the "Pirates of the Caribbean" movies.
