The Freedom Clip Lets You Break Free of the K-Cup
How many times have we all tried to use a different brand of coffee pod in our Keurig Coffeemakers only to realize that they don't work? The reason why is that K-cups have a special ink, which is read by newer Keurig machine and allows only Keurig-brand pods to work.
But necessity is the motherhood of invention, and the Rogers Family Company has devised a solution: The Freedom Clip!
The Freedom Clip fits inside your Keurig 2.0 and tricks the sensor into thinking every cup is authorized by the manufacturer.
According to TechCrunch, Keurig's K-Cup patent expired in 2012. Rather than opening their device to use other coffee pod makers' products, they opted instead to restrict it to only use K-Cups.
Here's to breaking the chains of coffee pod oppression!
