Lubbock’s The Egg & I Is No More. Now, It’s Called Chicken Run.

Lubbock folks got quite a shock this month when long-time brunch spot The Egg & I's well-known signage was gone, replaced by a banner for something called Chicken Run.

So, what happened to The Egg & I, which opened in Lubbock back in 2013? And what exactly is Chicken Run? We found out.

We called the newly-minted eatery Tuesday morning and spoke to the manager, who told us that The Egg & I chain was recently purchased by another company. This led the Lubbock business to disenfranchise and rename itself.

The good part? If you loved The Egg & I Lubbock's menu, nothing has changed. According to the manager, Chicken Run's menu is exactly the same. So if you loved The Egg & I's Parisian Benedict or Huevos Rancheros, you'll still love what Chicken Run is serving up for breakfast, lunch and brunch.
