Warner Bro. will be the first Hollywood studio to release a movie on Facebook, and you can be sure that many more are soon to follow. Here's how it works:

Any movie studio or company that wants to release a movie will either create a fan page for that movie, assuming they haven't already, or for the studio as a whole. You can friend the movies you want to see and for a certain number of Facebook "credits" you can see the movie. "Credits" will be around 10 cents a pop and movies will range around 30 credits, $3, per flick. Obviously older flicks will be cheaper than newer ones and you have the ability to watch the movie as much or as little as you want over the next 48 hours. You can pause, rewind, fast forward, full screen, all the features you get with digital DVD's without the hassle of a DVD, and its all instantaneous. I haven't heard about special features yet but I'm sure those will be released separately. This could happen soon so keep in touch at http://www.facebook.com/home.php#!/darkknight.
