Are you fan of jazz music who also wants to help out a local organization? If so, you are in luck because the Roots Historical Arts Council is presenting the Caprock Jazz Concert at The Buddy Holly Hall of Performing Arts and Sciences in September.

The concert will take place Saturday, September 18 inside the Crickets Theater at Buddy Holly Hall. It will be an intimate night of jazz music from many performers such as Adam Hawley, Tom Braxton, the Emmet Cohen Trio and featuring Bruce Harris and the Hub City Jazz Orchestra.

According to a press release about the concert, Adam Hawley is a musician that has burst onto the scene.

Guitarist Adam Hawley burst on to the scene as a celebrated and innovative artist, composer and band leader. Initially handpicked by Maurice White’s (founder of Earth, Wind, & Fire), Hawley’s three albums have spawned seven #1 hits, which is an unprecedented feat for a new artist. The third record, Escape, was the #1 selling album in the nation, outselling every other contemporary jazz album according to Nielsen. The debut single went on to become the Billboard and Smooth Jazz Network “Song of the Year for 2020.” He has also played for Jennifer Lopez, Natalie Cole, Lalah Hathaway, The Manhattan Transfer, Brian McKnight, and appeared on American Idol in the house band and more.

Tickets for the concert are on sale now for $100 and can be purchased online at the Buddy Holly Hall's website, by calling 800-514-3849 and in person at the Buddy Holly Hall Box Office at 1300 Mac Davis Lane. A portion of the proceeds will go to help supporting the Caviel Museum of African American History which is located in Lubbock.
