Texas Tech’s National Championship Coach Gets Extended Through 2024
Texas Tech Director of Athletics Kirby Hocutt has announced the extension of Director of Track & Field and Cross Country Wes Kittley who will now be in Lubbock through the 2024 season.
"I'm thankful for the opportunity to continue to coach here in Lubbock," Kittley said on TexasTech.com. "We've been able to build an incredible program here at Texas Tech, and I am very proud of what track and field represents in West Texas. It's exciting to continue to serve as the coach for Red Raider nation."
Kittley cemented himself in the pantheon of Texas Tech history this past track and field season by securing the first men's athletics NCAA Championship in the history of the department. It was the 30th national title of his career and hopefully not his last.
Wes Kittley has become synonymous with Texas Tech Track and Field and will now be involved in the program for a long time. Another great move by Kirby.
