Texas Tech University’s Skyviews Restaurant Reopening as Pizza Kitchen
For Texas Tech University's Restaurant, Hotel, and Institutional Management majors, Skyviews (1901 University Avenue Suite 600, Inside Texas Tech Plaza) is the place to put their skills to work.
I've been blessed to indulge in multi-course curated meals at a completely reasonable price- designed and beautifully executed by these RHIM students under the guidance of professional chef and industry mentors. In spite of being a classroom (so to speak), the service and quality I've experienced have always been impeccable. In fact, Skyviews is mostly self-supporting, meaning it normally does good enough business to pay for itself.
In pre-COVID-19 times, Skyviews was known for curated, multi-course meals and their famous lunch buffet. Sadly, the last several months have not been particularly buffet or multi-course meal-friendly. If you miss those things, don't despair: "Skyviews will reopen for lunch buffet and dinner series service in fall 2021, following a state-of-the-art remodel funded by a generous gift from the Moody Foundation." This really was the perfect time to do a remodel.
For now, you can get an amazing meal at a steal by ordering from their take-out pizza kitchen opening Monday, March 1st. The menu is tantalizing and expansive, offering salads, soups, sandwiches, desserts, and of course, pizzas. The 14-inch Neapolitan-style pizzas start at $10, a price which may be impossible to beat anywhere else in town.
Free with every meal is the knowledge that you actively supported a student following their dream. Texas Tech's RHIM program is high ranking and prestigious, with many of their alumni going on to remarkable careers in the industry.
