Sami Ward is gone and Texas Tech has finally replaced her by poaching one of the top assistants in softball by tabbing Craig Snider from Texas A&M. Snider was on the Florida State national championship team before he went to A&M.

We've found just that in Craig Snider," Kirby Hocutt told texastech.com. "Coach Snider has helped build a winning culture his entire career and has done so the right way. We look forward to many years of success under Coach Snider's watch, and we're excited to welcome him and his family to Lubbock."

Snider has been an assistant for the last 21 seasons in College Softball Snider has been at powerhouse programs like Oklahoma, Florida State, and Texas A&M. During his stops the teams have made three WCWS appearances and he's coached 20 All-Americans.

"I am honored and humbled to help lead this program," Snider told texastech.com. "Texas Tech is a special place with incredible support from the administration and fans. I am very excited to facilitate a championship culture on and off the field. Guns up!"

Snider is the 10th head coach in the Red Raiders softball program. Only two of those coaches have records better than .500 in their tenures as Red Raiders with Shannon Hays having the best mark in program history with a .660 winning percentage.
