Texas Tech Loses Tough One to No. 4 Ranked Baylor [Photos]
The Red Raiders put their home winning streak on the line this week against the Baylor Bears, but could not get enough going in the 57-52 loss.
Texas Tech went with a tight six-man rotation as the crowd at the United Supermarkets Arena tried to will them to victory.
Jahmi'us Ramsey stayed hot, dropping 20 points, including five three-pointers, but that was most of the team's production. The Red Raiders had just five points off the bench, all of those from Chris Clarke.
Texas Tech was also dominated on the boards by Baylor, who reeled in 44 rebounds to Tech's 25. The wide margin, combined with Texas Tech shooting less than 42 percent from the charity stripe, makes the five-point loss hard to stomach.
It's not that Baylor played better than Texas Tech; the Red Raiders just didn't capitalize on any of the opportunities that were presented to them.
Next up, Texas Tech plays West Virginia in Morgantown on Saturday, Jan. 11th at 5 p.m. on ESPN2.
