The Red Raiders lost two straight games in Big 12 play before getting back on track Tuesday against Kansas State. Texas Tech won 77-63, and Kyler Edwards led the way with 24 points, a career high.

Davide Moretti, Kevin McCullar and Jahmi'us Ramsey joined Edwards in double figures with 14, 10 and 10, respectively. Chris Clarke added 8 boards and 8 points to the totals.

After getting out-rebounded the past two Big 12 games, the Red Raiders had 31 rebounds, compared to 23 from the Wildcats. Texas Tech also shot nearly 40 percent from the three-point line, going 7-18 from beyond the arc. Texas Tech also forced the magic number of 20 turnovers.

The game itself never truly seemed in doubt for Texas Tech, even when Kansas State had separate runs of 11-0 and 9-0 during gameplay.

One of the stranger moments in the game was when Kyler Edwards hit a contested layup and came back on the court with a big flex, saying "and one!" -- an innocuous saying that's uttered countless times a game. Yet the officials disagreed that Edwards was fouled, so they gave Edwards a technical instead.

Just too many pecs.

Texas Tech moved to 11-5 and 2-2 in conference play with the win over Kansas State.

Texas Tech next gets on the court against Iowa State in the United Supermarkets Arena at 3 p.m. on Saturday, January 18th, 2020. The Cyclones are 8-7 with a 1-2 record in Big 12 play, and the Red Raiders have a secret weapon: Vanilla Ice.
