Texas Tech Football Adds Two Towering Tight Ends for 2021 Class

Texas Tech football added two tall tight ends to their 2021 class that already included a 4-star quarterback and a 4-star wide receiver.

Both of the new tight ends announced their commitments via twitter and both boast impressive highlight tapes from their junior seasons.

First to commit was 6'6" Jed Castles from Wichita Falls Rider. He doesn't carry a star ranking on 247, but is highly thought of and is a receiving TE that lives in the slot and out wide. Castles committed to Texas Tech over offers from Iowa State, Kansas State, Houston and many others.

Mason Tharp is the second tight end that committed to Texas Tech last week, and is the higher rated as a prospect. The 6'8" tight end is more well rounded as a tight end prospect, with nearly 20 offers including Iowa State, Kansas, Arizona, Arizona State and more.

Tharp is a true tight end at Klein, lining up with his hand in the dirt, in the slot and out wide. Here are his highlights from his junior year.
