After two months of focusing on the 2020 class, the Red Raider coaching staff has added a ninth player to the 2021 class. The newest addition is defensive tackle Demeco Roland, a JUCO defensive tackle who played high school football in Broken Arrow, Oklahoma as a three-star prospect before heading to Hutchinson Community College.

The 6'3", 350-pound defensive lineman commits to Texas Tech over Arkansas, North Texas, Syracuse and several other D1 offers.

Texas Tech added a commitment to its 2021 class Friday with the pledge of Hutchinson (KS) Community College defensive tackle Demeco Roland, who announced his decision via Twitter.

Roland is the first JUCO player in the Texas Tech class of 2021, but the court defensive lineman joining E'Maurian Banks, Charles Esters and Solomon Wright. The 2021 class is ranked 63rd in the nation according to 247sports.com. The class is likely to get another boost when four-star running back Cam'Ron Valdez commits as predicted.

Currently, the class is headlined by QB Behren Morton and WR Jerand Bradley.
