The Texas Rangers missed out on the premier free agent signing of the off-season when Anthony Rendon signed with the divisional rival Angels. The Rangers couldn't go through the off-season striking out on the hot corner, so the team has filled that 3rd base hole with 34-year-old Todd Frazier.

The one-year, $5 million dollar deal is team-friendly and will not logjam the position for potential players coming up through the ranks, like former Red Raider Josh Jung. The Rangers desperately needed a RH bat, which Frazier is, and he's also available to play both 3rd base and 1st base.

The Rangers have added a quality clubhouse guy for cheap and can now still go after a guy like Nicholas Castellanos, who's another RH bat who can play in the outfield and 1st base.
