Texas Man Arrested After Hitting Police Officer in Black Friday Incident [Video]

A 23-year-old El Paso man named Ruben Garcia apparently took a television from an elderly woman and stepped on her in the process.

According to the El Paso Times, Garcia was among a group of customers trying to grab a television at a Walmart store just after 6 p.m. on Thanksgiving Day.

The press release said the crowd started grabbing television while the employees were trying to get them out of their wrappings. During the incident, one of the officers on duty noticed that an elderly woman was at the bottom of the pile.

Police said the woman was being stepped on by Garcia as he was trying to grab the television she was holding.

A security guard, who was an off-duty police officer, try to pull Garcia away from the woman. The report says Garcia refused to give up the television and got into an altercation with the officer who he allegedly hit multiple times in the chest.

Finally, a second security guard was able to assist and detain Garcia.
