Taylor Swift Says She Loved the ‘Weirdness’ of ‘Cats’
Taylor Swift knows the Cats movie is weird, but that's why she loves it so much.
The "Beautiful Ghosts" singer covers British Vogue's new issue, in which she chatted with the musical's composer Andrew Lloyd Webber about everything from her acting career to being given the opportunity of a lifetime.
When asked if she would ever want to be an actress, the pop star said she's unsure. “I have no idea,” Swift admitted. “When I was younger, I used to get questions like, ‘Where do you see yourself in 10 years?’ I’d try to answer. As I get older, I’m learning that wisdom is learning how dumb you are compared to how much you are going to know."
However, she did have an incredible time filming Cats alongside Jennifer Hudson, Rebel Wilson, Jason Derulo and the rest of the movie's star-studded cast — even if the whole world thinks it's creepy.
"I really had an amazing time with Cats," she said. "I think I loved the weirdness of it. I loved how I felt I’d never get another opportunity to be like this in my life."
Elsewhere in her cover story, Swift even opened up about the sweet moment she shared with Judi Dench.
“There is one scene that Idris [Elba] and I do with Judi, and someone walked up to me with this kind of gummy candy,” Swift recalled. “I was like, ‘Oh, I’ve never had this before, this must be British candy, this is amazing.’ I was raving about this candy so much, and Judi must have overheard me, because the next day I got to my dressing room and there was a signed photo from Judi and, like, six bags of it.”
