Some of El Paso's good times are seasonal. During winter, Western Playland and Wet 'N Wild Waterworld shut down and horse racing at Sunland Park Racetrack and Casino also stops for part of winter.
Special hours will be in place starting next year during which water park attendance will be limited, there will be no loud music and other noisy distractions will be reduced.
West Texas may seem quiet, but it’s actually bursting with surprises—like a world-class observatory that’s been unlocking the secrets of the universe since 1933.
Hiking in El Paso can be dangerous so, play it safe. Bring plenty of water, don't go during the hottest part of the day, dress accordingly, know your limitations, watch for snakes, etc, etc. Watch for dead bodies too, by the way.
Texas has anything and everything you could possibly want. A strong economy, lots of room to grow, plenty to see and do - the list goes on. You can experience just about any climate or setting you want and never leave Texas.
This is honestly the only time I don't like being in El Paso, the windy season. The last few days have been even worse than usual, wrecking visibility and even causing I-10 to be shut down a couple of times.
