We’ve all heard there was a saint and something to do with snakes in Ireland and now we have parades and drink green beer. But what do we really know about St. Patrick’s Day?
Well, think again!
Growing up, St. Patrick's day was simply a way to celebrate the Irish by wearing green (or getting pinched). Later in life, you celebrate with stuff like corned beef and cabbage, green beer or a pint of Guinness and 'The Luck of the Irish' (which isn't lucky at all), all while searching for your pot o' gold at the end of the rainbow.
Things associated with St. Patrick's day are shamrocks, the color green and beer! The Irish holiday commemorates their most beloved patron saint, St. Patrick, known for bringing Christianity to Ireland
But why do we wear green?
Since it’s St. Patrick’s Day why not have a little fun while your at work and find out your Irish name. Today, I will not be known as Julie K. today I am Shauna O’Conor or if I want to add a little Redneck flare to it I’m now Wee Ruby McLeghumper.
