Reports indicate that the standoff began with the search for armed robbery suspects.

Officers received reports of an armed robbery earlier in the day in the 900 block of Avenue Q.

9 people were taken into custody.


 

UPDATE 5:02 p.m. Wednesday, October 30

Lubbock Police tweeted at 5:02 p.m. that the stand-off had ended, but police presence for some time longer.


According to an emergency notification from the Lubbock Police Department, LPD SWAT were in a stand-off Wednesday afternoon.

The notification, received at 4:26 p.m., said the stand-off was happening in the 2100 block of 65th Street. The public were asked to avoid the area.

The details surrounding this stand-off remain unknown.
