Speaker of the House Race: Paul Ryan vs Waka Flocka Flame?
Paul Ryan is moving closer to being named as Speaker of the House as outside pressures from the Republican party are mounting.
The conservative congressman from Wisconsin said the country is "in desperate need for leadership," but is unwilling to take the role unless the three major GOP coalitions back his candidacy.
Ryan also demanded the Republican party to transition from being an “opposition party” into a “proposition party,” becoming a force for positive change in government rather than languishing and threatening to sequester and shut down the government at every turn.
Ryan has given conservative leaders a timeline of Friday, October 23, to accept his ultimatum.
Meanwhile, rapper Waka Flocka Flame has expressed interest in throwing his hat into the ring to replace Representative John Boehner.
Popular internet comedy site, Funny Or Die, released a short campaign video featuring the rapper where he said rapping was always a “means to the end,” but that his real dreams lie with congress.
Legislative goals for Flocka include marijuana reform, gun control and women’s rights. Flocka said he would block the Trans-Pacific Partnership, Voter ID laws and construction of a fence along the U.S.-Mexico border.
To be honest, Flocka laid out his agenda and goals in a much more concise, open way than any politician ever could. Ryan just might be looking over his shoulder.
