Caleb Moore was competing in the X-Games in Aspen Colorado when he came up short on a trick. He was competing in the snowmobile freestyle and had completed 2 back flips successfully when he went for a 3rd and came up short.

Back flips are hard enough to do on your own, much less launching a 400 pound snowmobile over you. Caleb hit short and caught the skis which flipped him and the machine forward. It ended up bouncing off him on the landing ramp.

Caleb was brought to a hospital for a concussion when doctors found bleeding in Moore’s heart and flew him to Grand Junction, Colorado. After emergency heart surgery, 25 year old Moore from Krum, Texas, reportedly suffered more injuries in his brain.

Even more brutal is the fact that Moore’s younger brother, Colten, also competed in the Snowmobile Freestyle finals and crashed. He went to the hospital with a separated pelvis, but does not need surgery. Caleb is still in critical condition.
