‘SNL’ Sets Ryan Gosling to Host Season 43 Premiere
As SNL brings its summer Weekend Update to a close, we have our first official Season 43 host. Hide your replicants, as Blade Runner 2049 star and returning guest Ryan Gosling will host the late September premiere, joined by an iconic New York musical guest.
SNL confirmed at the end of its final summer Weekend Update that prior host Gosling would return for the Season 43 premiere on September 30, joined by musical guest Jay-Z. This will mark Gosling’s second time hosting (having giggled it up in 2015), while Jay-Z previously played alongside host Betty White in 2010.
Elsewhere of SNL Season 43, the series has confirmed exits for cast members Sasheer Zamata, Vanessa Bayer and Bobby Moynihan, while other reports suggest head writers Chris Kelly and Sarah Schneider will be leaving the series behind. Alec Baldwin’s Trump is also confirmed to return, as are the live-coast-to-coast airings that began with Season 42’s final episodes.
We’ll likely hear additional hosts in the coming weeks, but stay tuned for more on Baby Goose’s return for the Season 43 premiere.
