After a search of a southwest Lubbock neighborhood early Sunday morning, Lubbock Police made an arrest in a local shooting.
Twenty-eight-year-old Joshua Wayne Ryan, of Slaton, was arrested and charged with Aggravated Assault, Felon in Possession of a Firearm, Reckless Driving and Violation of a Protective Order.
Police were called out to the 5700 block of 63rd Street around 4 a.m. Sunday morning. When they arrived on the scene, they found one man, 25-year-old Michael Flores, suffering from a gunshot wound.
LPD set up a perimeter and the SWAT team was called in to assist the search. That’s when Ryan was one of a number of people found at a residence in the 5700 block of 63rd Street.
Ryan is still in custody at the Lubbock County Jail on a $65,000 bond. The circumstances of the shooting are still under investigation.
