The eastern South Plains as well as the Rolling Plains were struck by severe thunderstorms Monday afternoon and evening.

A Tornado Watch was in effect from around 1 p.m. to 8 p.m. for the affected counties on Monday. Rain, hail, and even tornadoes were present across the region.

KAMC News reported at around 3 p.m. a tornado touching down near Matador. There have been no damage reports and so far no word on any injuries.

Hail and strong winds affected many counties across the region, and Lubbock wasn't unaffected.

Pictured above is some damage that occurred between Indiana and University Avenues on 98th Street.
